A young couple will sit at a small table in the center of the gallery. They will be paired together with very little knowledge of each other and meet in front of an audience. They can decide if they want to pass the time by speaking to each other or not. Similar to the structure of a first date, they will attempt to have a private moment with one another in "the public space" of the gallery. The couple’s interactions and conversation will be on view as an artwork and anyone who is the gallery can watch or hear them. Though the audience plays the traditionally non-active role of viewer, their involvement, approval, or ridicule plays a crucial role in the manner in which the couple interacts. The public’s discomfort will be reflected in the performers and vice versa.
